Since remodeling our kitchen a couple of years ago, we always knew the primary bathroom would be next up on our list for renovation. So after a brief conversation bringing the idea back to the forefront of our home improvement plans, we got the ball rolling by reaching out to our rockstar contractors who were ready and willing to make the dream happen. And so here is the start of our latest home remodel project in photo gallery form as I document the exciting progress in real time.
So. EXCITED!

This is my Big City view as I walk to and from my covered parking garage every day, and seeing it all gives me that uptown-chic kind of vibe as I go. I mean, how can you ever get enough of this awesome sight? Must say a slight jolt of electricity hits me every time I take in this view while walking around downtown Omaha, and then I shake my head in disbelief at how crazily scary it all felt just 4 short months ago. Who knew living the career dream could rise up out of nothing so unexpectedly? Feeling blessed and grateful that it did, just in time to save me from living in hermit mode for the rest of my adult years.
*sniffs back tears of happiness* Since landing back in Omaha after that whole escape-from-life visit to the desert, I've hit the ground running in pursuit of more new career opportunities. So with my next interview lined up for tomorrow, I find this photo to be an appropriate freeze frame of me with my feet back on the ground ready for that next big break just sitting out there waiting to happen. Feeling empowered, confident, and worthy of even greater opportunities...
MY "A" GAME IS SO ON. From 4th to the beginning of 7th grade, I had the privilege of living on an Air Force Base in Alaska where I became acclimated with all kinds of fun local activities, particularly ICE SKATING, a sport that easily became a favorite. And even though I had free/open-access to the ice skating rink at my local school, Mt. Spurr, sometimes friends and I just took the easy way out and skated on roads right outside our homes. So after getting all "pro" with my skating skills, I soon had high hopes of making it to the Olympics where I would dazzle the judges and become the next Linda Fratianne. Sadly, that dream never became a reality, but I had the absolute time of my life trying to make it happen. No regrets there, whatsoever.
Photos taken from my Sony Cyber-shot digital camera do not do justice to the spectacular-ness of my last visit to Italy, hence the need to return for a refresher. And I do believe in the Fontana di Trevi legend stating that throwing a coin into the fountain ensures a future return to Rome. Except, next visit? Nikon photo-taking. Totally.
After running smack into this exquisite leather and fur jacket while in Dillards yesterday, I knew this dream item would be the perfect addition to my Christmas 2017 wish list. And why is this particular jacket so "dreamy" to me? Because I ran across a similar jacket in St. Pancras railway station while touring Europe with my folks a few years ago. We were loading on and off trains through the Chunnel and took advantage of the layover time to do a little bit of souvenir shopping when this expensive gem caught my eye. But unfortunately, I squashed my urge to buy the jacket back then and bought a toy double-decker bus for my son instead. So after giving up my dream of owning that leather and fur piece of fabulousness so long ago, it only seems right that I should dream that dream all over again.
If only Santa will agree with me on this. |
