First week in my new role at this new amazing corporation, and I must say that I have completely fallen head over heels in love with this place and everything about it.
Dream Job? CHECK.

From the very first day I started my new position in downtown Omaha, I found myself walking past Harley's Barber Shop located at the entrance of the First National Bank main tower. Each day that I walked by this shop I'd see a little barber dude whom I later learned was named "Mike" and was known for his long grayish-white hair and pony tail, focused on cutting some random person's hair or chatting with a customer. I thought, How cool for this guy to have his own shop right smack in the middle of Omaha's business district with a steady stream of clientele keeping him in business? But then, out of the blue, Mike was no more. Shockingly after 6 months of seeing this guy so dedicatedly keeping himself in business, a notification appeared on the door of his shop simply stating he'd passed away. And that was it - no more Mike.
So now as I walk by Harley's quiet, lonely, and just plain dead shop I'm left with the realization of how suddenly and unexpectedly we can flat out leave the planet. Life over and done. Hey, Bucket List? Let's go.
I have seen my share of disappointment, desperation, and grief over 2018 which led me to new beginnings and unexpectedly uplifting opportunities. So while there are certain life events I would like to erase from the past year, I am also looking forward to all kinds of amazingly great stuff ahead. Biggest lesson learned? Life is too short and could end any time, so live every single day to the fullest and take care of that "Bucket List" now, because tomorrow is not guaranteed to even happen.
I AM SO ON IT. Looking at my wrist and seeing this information on my Apple Watch actually does give me the warm fuzzies despite the clouds and 13 degree temp staring back at me. Because not only is the weather completely blah-like, but I also have NO MORE EVENTS planned, a total excuse to use the whole rest-of-the-day to enjoy some serious Me Time and dream about that trip to Italy still hanging out in the back of my brain. Let the fun begin.
