Yes it is . . . and it's disheartening. When I was starting my career, no one wanted to hire me because I didn't have "experience" and now that I have experience, ,they want someone they "can train"! Ugh.
Ugh, is right! I am noticing that employers are asking candidates to be all trained in newer web-based technologies that are mostly learned while on the job - you just can't get that specific kind of training from a Computer Science degree. Previously when I've applied for jobs, the employer hired me for my capability to pick up these technologies because I have the background of having earned a Computer Science degree - they knew I could do it and didn't expect me to come onboard with it 100%. Totally frustrating. *smh*
