Enjoying some time off to myself this fine Fourth of July week, complete with shopping at Nebraska Crossing Outlets and cuddling with a purring cat on my lap. Definitely puts a new perspective on the usual grind of life and reason for celebrating the holiday. Highly recommended for sanity purposes instead of dealing with chaotic travel on holidays such as these.

- Found a doctor to replace my recently retired gynecologist and got that annual exam checked off my "To Do" list. Oh, along with a mammogram. Because I'm a glutton for self-torture, obviously - so why not get it done all at once, right?
- Last but most certainly not least, interviewed for the job opportunity OF. A. LIFETIME. So basically if I die tomorrow, at least I can say I lived long enough to be considered for the position of my absolute dreams.

Looking over my laptop and seeing this cat on the footstool between my calves is a little heart wrenching, especially since her preferred seat is precisely where my lap desk is sitting. Although, since my feet and calves were starting to get a little bit chilly, I am not feeling sad enough modify the situation. So we'll just go with this until something better comes along for her, like another lap - preferably one without a lap desk sitting on it. Sorry, not sorry.
